Tabernero

MORE THAN A CENTURY OF TRADITION

1897  Bodegas y Viñedos TABERNERO was founded in the valley of Chincha, province of Ica, 200 km south of Lima, capital of Peru.

1930  The company was acquired by the Rotondo family who had a long tradition in wine and who possessed their own technique for wine production, a product of their Italian heritage.  Growth was constant, achieving a pioneering technology infrastructure in Peru.

1960  A military government expropriated the lands of all agricultural entrepreneurs.  Thus overturning all the effort and experience gained over more than 70 years of experience.

1979  At the end of the military government, a long reconstruction process began that started with the acquisition of land for vineyards, wine cellar infrastructure expansion, and technology in line with new market requirements.

2017  Bodegas y Viñedos TABERNERO has over 300 hectares under cultivation. Moreover, it has a wine cellar of over 20.000 square meters that works with cutting–edge technology ensuring the quality of TABERNERO’s processes and products.
