Quest Farm was conceived as a pinot noir project, however, a small area was planted in pinot gris with the idea to co-ferment with some pinot noir — along the lines of a syrah/viognier… it didn't work…
The “silver lining’ of the experiment was the production of a true pinot gris from the farm.
Hand harvested, the wine was gently whole bunch pressed. The pinot gris has a small field selection of viognier and gewürztraminer which adds weight and perfume. Wild ferment followed by prolonged lees contact and stirring results in a dry, full bodied wine with luscious and lingering stone fruit flavours and lifted aromatics of spice and pear.

Pinot Gris with just a hint of Gewurztraminer (less than 4% by my calculation). Attractive wine with good purity and concentration plus an ethereal texture. Apple, quince and pear flavours plus a hint of floral character. Fine tannins help promote a pleasantly drying finish.
