Product Notes
The 2006 vintage was RISECCOLI's first release of this non-traditional mono-varietal – particularly rare for Tuscany. The Petit Verdot grape tends to ripen late in the season and is very well-suited to one of the most sun-exposed slopes on the estate.
The Petit Verdot grapes are typically harvested in the third week of October. The must macerates for 20 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and the wine is then racked in French barriques, of which half are new, before being bottled.
Tasting Notes
A dark ruby-red coloured wine with a complex nose layered with violets and pencil shavings. The palate is rich and smooth with aromas of ripe berries and plums balanced by as an infusion of dark aromas, firm tannins and a velvety texture. Petit Verdot is recognized for its great ageing potential and ours is no exception.
