Vinedos y Bodegas Pittacum, Bierzo
Bodegas Pittacum is part of the Grupo Terras Gauda.
This acclaimed winery is located in northwestern Castile-León in DO Bierzo, a Spanish wine producing region that is known for its elegant, mineral and fruit-forward red wines made from the noble and historic native Spanish grape Mencía.
It is in this picturesque and rugged landscape that Bodegas Pittacum makes its wines, including the Barrique 2009 wine made from fifty to eighty year old vines.
Bodegas Pittacum exports 45% of its production. It forms part of the wine group known as Grupo Terras Gauda, along with Terras Gauda and Quinta Sardonia. The group's wines are sold in 56 countries across the globe.
