Soil: Mixture of fine elements, quartzite and slate

Planting density: 6000 and 7000 plants per hectare according to plots and aspect

Height over sea level: From 500 m to 700 m

Climate: Microclimate with Atlantic and Mediterranean influence

Rainfall: Between 750 and 1000 mm

Aspect: Semi-terraced slopes and sharp slopes

Vinification: Strict and thorough selection of the grapes in the vineyard. Manual harvest in 15 kg boxes. Temperature controlled processing of the grapes at 10º. Manual selection at the sorting table. Soft destemming. Independent vinification of plots in 150 hl stainless steel tanks at 25º. Macerations adjusted to the potential of each variety and plot. Fermentation and maceration of the skins for between 18 and 22 days.

Elaboration: Malolactic fermentation in barrel and the aged for 12 months in French oak finegrained barrels of 400l.

Bottling: Fining with egg albumin. Bottling by decanting depending on the moon phase.

Profile of the wine: Blend of grapes from three zones with different soils.

Tasting note: Perfect expression of Mencía from Bierzo. This vintage is characterized by a great fruit concentration. We can find a lot of nuances, red fruit, violets and mineral notes, wich are assembled with the nuances provided by the oak aging. The palate is fresh, meaty and elegant with a great finish.
