New Tasting Coming Soon About Us
Thank you for visiting us I was lucky enough to attend the University of Cape Town South Africa - home and neighbour to some of the most beautiful and welcoming vineyards and wineries in the world. Initial inebriation-focused forays soon changed into an appreciation of the nectar of the grape. I started collecting red wines from the great 1978 South African vintage and have never looked back. I have been involved in some way or another in the wine industry in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand for over 20 years since 1987, and started Planet Wine in 2002. Planet Wine's focus is on boutique wineries from renowned wine regions around the world and niche alcoholic beverages. We have visited most wine regions of the world and met the owners of most of the wineries Planet Wine represents. We work with people we like and who have a similar quality ethic and goal of building strong brands, patiently. Essentially, our goal is to build a community of wine people - suppliers, Planet Wine people and customers. I trust that you will find wines and other products of interest in our portfolio. We also import high quality extra virgin olive oil from a few of our wine suppliers. More recently, we are awaiting the wines from Marietta Cellars in Geyserville, California. Juicy, ripe and red! We have also added Patxarana Sloe Berry Liqueur and Orujo from Navarra and brandy from Southern Spain as well as a raft of wines from Spain and Italy which were sourced at the Alimentaria (Barcelona) and Vinitaly Wine Fairs. We are also the proud distributors of Patagonian wines from Bodega Noemia and Bodega Chacra in Argentina. Stunning wines made by wine industry legends. We host tastings on an ad-hoc basis.
