ALTA CIMA

Alta Cima is firmly linked with Schröder-Hanke family. Originally from Germany, Klaus Schröder and Katharina Hanke have lived and worked in Chile for over 40 years. Klaus studied at Weinsberg and Geisenheim in Germany and has been a contracting winemaker to a multitude of Chilean wineries and Katharina has imported and exported wine for many years.

They started their own project, Alta Cima, in 1974 with the establishments of vineyards in the Lontué Valley, one of two appellations within the DO of the Curico Valley, about 2 hours South of the capital, Santiago. In 2000 they saw their dream materialise - the construction of their new winery. The winery was built with world class winemaking technology and a harmonic and unique architectural design in mind. At this stage, Alta Cima produce only the Alta Cima 6.330 Cabernet blend. The wine is named after one of the highest volcanoes visible from the winery. The Estate consists of 127ha, 62ha of which are under vine.

Alta Cima 4.090 Carménère 2009

The Carménère 4.090 from the 2009 harvest has a deep ruby-red colour with dark violet  shades. 
To the nose it is exuberant, combining black and red fruits that complement the black pepper, sweet green pepper and slightly toasted notes.
It presents a rich structure, well accompanied by its fruity and spicy flavour, creating an intense persistence within the mouth.

Alta Cima 4.090 Merlot 2011

Our 2009 Altacima 4.090 Merlot has an intense and attractive red colour. 
It presents pleasant aromas that combine black and red fruits with black pepper, and hints of toast.
It has strong fruity flavours with mature and velvety tannins that embrace the palate. 
An elegant wine with a very nice persistence.

Alta Cima 6.330 Assemblage 2010

Our 6.330 blend 2008 harvest has an intense and deep red colour. Complex to the nose, this wine combines fruity aromas such as cranberry, cassis and plum with sweet spices such as vanilla and finishing with some toasted notes. When in the mouth, it is full-bodied with an intensely fruity flavour and a long persistent ending.

Alta Cima 6.330 Late Harvest Gewürztraminer 2011 375ml

100% Gewürztraminer 2011 from the Lontue Valley, Chile.

It is very complex to the nose and intensely aromatic, exposing traces of candied fruit, spices and   rose petals aromas.

 It is full-bodied when in the mouth, possessing an elegant and balanced acidity that gives it vitality. Its sweetness makes it silky and creamy, leaving the mouth with a very powerful finish.
This wine has great potential for bottle ageing.

Alta Cima Ikono Ataraxia 2009
This wine has an intense and deep colour which is an indication of its structure.  It has fruity aromas such as cassis, plum, raspberry that combine harmonically with sweet spicy aromas of vanilla and toast. 

In the mouth it is full-bodied and concentrated; its tannins are embracing, leaving a powerful and persistent sensation.
