Champagne Marguet Rosé - bright pink with fresh red summer fruits on the nose. Fresh but serious palate with lasting bubbles and long finish. Two years for assemblage: 65% chardonnay & 35% pinot noir, including some saignee juices (skin maceration) fermented separately and including red wine (about 15%). All the reds come from Ambonnay and Bouzy and the chardonnay is 80% Grand Cru mainly from Oger, Avize and Le Mesnil sur Oger. 50% of the chardonnay is barrel fermented. No barrel at all for red.
2 years of ageing in average on its yeasts in the bottle, then two years in bottle on yeast lees.
Potential for ageing: from 5 to 10 years in a good cellar. If the rose color evolves/fades over time, the wine will not lose its freshness and aromatic quality.
The MARGUET method for the elaboration of its Rose Champagne is relatively uncommon: the majority is Chardonnay, to which are added red wines of Ambonnay and Bouzy and a touch of rose bleeding, - not for its colour but for its aromatic support.
"Its dress is like a table of rose flower petals" Benoit Marguet
